On January 15th， Guoteng Electronics Co.， Ltd announced that He Yan was arrested by procuratorial authority for being suspected of misappropriating corporate funds. The company also declared that He Yan’s illegal act had nothing to with it.
Open file indicates that He Yan is the person that actually controls Guoteng Electronics Co.， Ltd. According to last year’s semiannual report of the company， Chengdu Guoteng Electronics Group is the majority shareholder of Guoteng Elctroics Co.， Ltd， and He Yan is the largest shareholder of Guoteng Electronics Group with 51% shares.
He Yan was born in 1961 and known as the“Beautiful Magnate” of Sichuan. In 1994， He Yan saw the huge potential of China’s IC Telephone and founded Chengdu Guoteng Communication Co.， Ltd together with several tech- nicians from Chengdu University of Electronic Science and Technology. The company invested and produced the very first IC Phone of China and occupied the domestic market in a short time. Guoteng and He Yan become famous over one fight.
Resorting to the development of Guoteng， He Yan hit Forbes’ mainland China list and Hurun List repeatedly. In 2006， He Yan was ranked in Hurun list as the richest person of Sichuan IT Industry.
In recent years， He Yan was reported constantly with illegal possession of state assets. Last July， Guoteng Electronics and Yichuan Police confirmed successively that He Yan was under investigation for unlawful business operation which according to He Yan’s lawyer is a completely different charge from the one the procuratorial authority used on January 15th this year.
