A retrospective cohort study was conducted to observe the deaths of workers exposed to acrylonitrile (CH_2 = CHCN), methyl acrylate (CH_2 = CECO_2CH_3) and sodium thiocyanate (CNNaS) during 16 years. The result showed that the death rate of cerebrovascular disease of male workers in this plant was significantly larger than that of local residents, the difference was statistically significant. The number of deaths from malignancies increased with the increase of seniority. The average age of death was 10 years to 15 years earlier than normal. Carrying out this research can provide a scientific basis for the development of health standards and the evaluation of environmental hygiene.
