初中招生要不要取消重点中学,是近几年基础教育改革争论的热点之一。争论的实质是对全体学生进行平等教育的同时,对部分优秀学生进行重点培养,是否与义务教育的基本精神相违。其实,从“义务教育法”的精神理解,对每一个适龄孩子来说都有享受教育的权利,这是平等的,但这是起跑线上的平等。在这之后,接受什么类型、什么程度的教育,这要根据各自发展的程度而定,如再强求“平等”和“一致”,显然是与教育发展自身的规律相违背的,必然会造成人才和教育资源的浪费。
