Praise Songfor the Day。 Praise song for struggle!Praise song for the day!
This issue brings to you the first Praise Song for the Day by Elizabeth Alexander (1962-), a professor of African descent from Yale University, who was recited at her Obama inauguration on January 20 this year. ElizabethAlexander is also a poet, essayist, playwright, who won the Pulitzer Prize. This poem belongs to the “occasional poem ” in the traditional form of poetry - originated from the classical Latin poets for the celebration, commemoration or memory of special events, occasions, ceremonies (such as birthdays, weddings, funerals, buildings, war victories, etc.) And wrote the poem. The American public praised the poem. Some people think that this poem is a portrayal of real life and very real; others think it is too general in theme, “trying to present the American multicultural chorus through the boring daily life, but in fact Only in poetry underscores the historic position of African-Americans in the United States. ”Regardless of any political purpose of disregarding this poem, I think this poem is quite well-written, . If a country’s leaders can make people live and work hard and have positive spiritual pursuits, the country is full of hope. It is the laborer who is working in a down-to-earth manner, the most solid foundation of a nation. Praise song for the game! Praise song for the day!
