阚(kàn)是一个较为生僻的字,有“望、俯瞰”之意。而“阚”作为姓氏也不常见,在宋代版《百家姓》中,阚姓仅排在第380位。阚姓人士虽然都尊春秋时期的齐国卿士阚止为得姓始祖,但对于阚姓的由来却有多种说法,其中流传较广的说法有4种:第一种说法称,阚姓源自姜姓,属于以封地名为氏。春秋时期,齐国大夫姜止立下功勋,被齐灵公封于阚地(今山东省济宁市汶上县西南),于是世人称其为“阚止”。从此,姜止的后裔子孙便以阚为氏,世代相传至今。另一种说法称,阚姓出自姞姓,属于
