A government and the state advocate the development of neo-liberal theory, we should weaken the role of the government (state) in economic life and establish the government as small as possible. Developing the economy is a private sector issue. However, the history of many developing countries since more than half a century shows that the small government does not necessarily bring about the high efficiency that neoliberals want to see. The government’s withdrawal from the economy has not brought about the prosperity of private investment. The concept of “small government and big society” may work well in developed countries, but it will certainly work in developing countries.
