体格发育的资料是评价青少年健康状况的重要标志之一.掌握青少年生长发育的具体状况和规律,对于正确地组织学校教育工作,以及在医疗卫生工作方面,都有重要作用.我们党和国家十分关怀青少年的健康成长,建国二十九年来,对这方面进行了许多工作①②③④.特别是又在一九七四年进行了全国规模的有组织的调查,有些资料曾提出近十年来青少年生长发育水平有所提高⑤⑥.我们结合教学,开展了这方面的调查研究,希望能为这方面提供一些资料.调查内容和方法调查工作是在一九七六年至一九七七年间进行的.先后调查了东莞县两所中学,郁南县两所中学,花县一所中学、两所小学(附设初中班),增城县一所小学(附设初中班).共调查有效卡表2367张,其中男生1236张,女生1131张.调查项目包括身高、坐高、体重、胸围、肺活量等五项;还对近视、沙眼,龋齿、寄生虫等常见病进
