The Sino-Tibetan Etymology Dictionary and Thesaurus (STEDT) is a historical linguistic research project organized by the Department of Linguistics, University of California, Berkeley, and is funded by the American Foundation for Science and the American The foundation provides funding. The project is managed by James A. Matisoff, a famous Sino-Tibetan linguist in the United States and a professor of linguistics at the university.
