Previous studies have demonstrated that organically bound chlorine in pulp can adversely affect pulp yellowing. A comprehensive study of bleached kraft eucalyptus pulp found that organically bound chlorine exacerbates the yellowing of some of the pastes, but this trend does not apply to all slurries.
