碳、氢、氮等元素的定量分析是有机化合物分析的一个重要项目.通常采用经典的Liebig法测定碳、氢;用Dumas法测定氮.尽管多年来经过多方面的改进,但至今分析过程仍比较麻烦,耗时间较长而且需要一定熟练的操作.应用仪器分析可以避免许多因手工操作造成的困难.六十年代以来碳、氢元素的微量分析采用了多种新技术、新方法.如:热导分析和电分析的自动测定技术.目前国外已有多种自动分析的商品仪器,有的还配有电子天平及小型计算机,使得称样速度快及结果自动显示.因此类产品大都采用昂贵的氦气为载气,以致国内难以广泛应用.
