Scientists have developed a new type of bendable, scalable nanomaterial that can be used in wearable electronics and other smart materials. It is reported that the film-type nanomaterials are composed of intricate and steered nanofiber screens. The screen is electroplated and attached to a solid substrate. In addition to bendability and extensibility, it has the advantage of being transparent and highly conductive. The material was developed in collaboration with scientists at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Korea University. Researchers in the “new material magazine” (Advanced Materials Journal)
