一九五八年,是一个伟大的不平凡的一年。全面跃进的社会主义建設运动,获得了空前丰盛的物質果实和精神果实。在这个运动中党的新聞事业,也大大跃进了一步。它在党的领导下,一方面对社会主义建設运动起了“組織、鼓舞、激励、批判、推动”的作用;一方面在运动中经受了考验与锻炼,增长了知識,取得了教訓。这一年的实践非常丰富,它对进一步發展党的新聞事业,具有很大的实际意义和理論意义。山西日报在中共山西省委的直接领导下,和全国各新聞单位一样,在过去的一年中,确实向前跃进了一步。但同时也存在着若干缺点和问题。当着新的更加艰巨的任务伴随着新的一年到来的时候,我們对过去的一年既要肯定成績,总結經驗,又必須检查缺点,接受教训;在新的一年要担負起新的任务,制定新的奋斗目标,鼓足干劲,力爭上游,满怀信心地迈开新的矫健的跃进步伐。报紙在一九五九年如何跃进呢?抓什么关键性的問題呢?看来,必须跃过三关,才能继续胜利前进。这就是思想水平关,语言文字关,群众运动关。三关相互联結,但以第一关为綱。
