On July 8, President Jiang Zemin issued an order promulgating the “Seed Law of the People’s Republic of China”, the first law of China’s seed industry, and came into force on December 1 this year. The Seeds Act consists of 11 chapters and 78 articles. The purpose of formulating the “Seed Law” is to protect and make rational use of germplasm resources, regulate the breeding of varieties and standardize the production, operation and use of seeds, maintain breed breeds and seed producers and managers,
