The Clincally Reportable Range (CRR) is an analyte that exceeds the analytical measurement range (AMR) and allows for the use of sample dilution, concentration, and pretreatment assays to determine the true and accurate concentration of an analyte in a sample. The College of American Pathologists (CAP) defines laboratory-approved AMR as the credible lowest and highest concentration range value that an analytical method can report. The CRR is defined as the analytical range of the analytical method that reports the quantitative results accurately, allowing the sample to be diluted, concentrated or otherwise pre-processed, ie, extended AMR, and asked the laboratory to determine the analytical method’s AMR and CRR. Laboratory confirmation of AMR and CRR is of great importance for clinicians to accurately grasp the development of the disease.
