阿勒泰地区位于新疆维吾尔自治区最北部,具有极丰富的自然资源,是待开发的一块宝地。 阿勒泰境内有著名的额尔齐斯河和乌伦古河两大水系56条河流。额尔齐斯河是我国惟一注入北冰洋的河流。这里大小湖泊很多,最壮观美丽动人的是哈纳斯湖和布伦托海。前者为高山湖泊,密布着原始森林;布伦托海水面之大,达100多万亩,湖水浩瀚,真是塞外之海。在这些河流和湖泊中生长着许多种鱼类,有些还很名贵。
