The urinary superoxide dismutase (SOD) and vitamin E (VE) and xanthine oxidase (XOD) were measured in 44 cases of primary nephrotic syndrome, 26 cases of acute glomerulonephritis and 21 cases of purpuric nephritis. And malondialdehyde (MDA). The results showed that the urinary SOD, VE, XOD and MDA in children with acute phase or nephropathy were all increased, while those in convalescence or remission were all decreased to some extent. Tip: Urinary anti-oxidant excretion increased in children with glomerular disease.
