本书原名德意志民主共和国总统威廉·皮克简单生活写真(Wilhelm Pieck,Pr(?)sident der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik,Kurze Lebensbeschreibung),系根据德意志民主共和国情报部出版的德文本译出,著作人是华尔忒·巴特耳(Walter Bartel),出版日期不祥。不过根据本书中所涉及的若干事件加以推断,本书当系完成於一九五○年。本书在译校过程中,译者遇有疑问时,曾经参阅布洛克豪斯(Brockhaus)及迈耳百科全书(Meyers Konversations-Lexikon)——并随时和一些同志讨论以求忠实。文字方面也求简明易解,但译者学识浅薄,错误在所不免,尚希读者指正。
This book was originally translated as Wilhelm Pieck, Präsident der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik, Kurze Lebensbeschreibung. According to the German text published by the Ministry of Information of the German Democratic Republic, the book was translated by Chinese Walter Bartel, published ominously. However, based on a number of events covered in this book, it is assumed that the book was completed in 1950. During the process of translating the book, the translator, in case of any doubt, refers to Brockhaus and the Meyers Konversations-Lexikon - and discusses with some gays for faithfulness at any time. Literary aspects are also sought to be concise and easy to understand, but the translator’s knowledge is superficial and mistakes are inevitable.
