都市绘画表现当代都市生活景象及都市人的精神情感。社会的变革及商品时尚文化带来的精神匮乏、紧张、焦虑以及压抑心理的状态是都市绘画的主题。都市绘画中对这些情绪的表达,反映的是一种被隔膜、被排斥的情境状态,是画家在都市边缘的徘徊与沉思。以现代都市为创作背景的油画,把注意力对准现代都市中人的生存状态,把视角投向了对现实和社会问题的关注,并对当代都市文化中所表现出来的冷漠、空虚、荒诞等对人性的异化方面进行了批判,借此表达了画家对都市人生存状态的思考。
