In order to meet the needs of China’s high-rise building development and modernization construction, adapt to the new norms, improve the design level of China’s high-rise building structures, broaden their horizons, enrich their knowledge, and master the development dynamics of high-rise buildings at home and abroad and the latest scientific and technological achievements. Based on the reflections and requirements of architectural design organizations in various regions, the Chinese Society of Mechanics and the Journal of Engineering Mechanics have decided; from 1990 onwards, the “New Specification for High-rise Building Structure Design” class will be held continuously in Beijing and other places.
