Talent is the most important resource for the development of the western region. This paper elaborates on the employment mechanism in the strategy of developing the western region in detail. It holds that the fundamental problem of talent in Xinjiang is the issue of personnel mechanism. Only by resolving this issue can we successfully implement the strategy of developing the western region
