现代陶艺作为一种艺术门类的产生和演变,必然要遵循当今时代所融合的美学原则和美学思潮。当陶艺家要通过陶艺作品表达自己的精神理想和反映某种现象时,就已经开始思考通过陶瓷材质作为媒介来表达陶艺作品的语言形式并获得创作中的满足感,这种语言形式是借助不同的土质、釉色、表面的装饰、烧制以及技术手段寻求彰显其自身的作品个性。也就是说,陶艺家在运用不同的材料并使用各种工艺手段来创作有形艺术符号的同时,就已经介入到陶艺的语言形式中了,并且能用自己独特的语言形式来表现创作的主题,规范和补充创作主体的完整性。
