1951年8月,以谢觉哉为团长、李步新为副团长的“中央人民政府南方老根据地访问团中央苏区分团”前来福建省访问,在人民群众中引起了极大反响。老根据地遍传喜讯:“毛主席派代表来访问我们老革命根据地人民了!”省委指定伍洪祥、陆维特、张壮飞代表省、地党政机关前往长汀迎接中央苏区访问团。
