《春秋配》原是梆子传统戏之一,但近年来很少见梆子剧种演这出戏。京剧移植此剧后,京剧四大名旦都演此剧,但有的演“拷打”、“捡柴”两折,有的演“拷打、捡柴、回柴”三折,尚小云先生演“拷打、捡柴、回柴、逃走、砸涧”五折。我在荣春社科班学戏时,尚先生就接他演的五折教给我,演到“砸涧”止。出科后见到一个全剧的剧本,从姜绍别家起至公堂真相大白、将姜秋莲许配李春发止。后来听说黄桂秋先生演全部《春秋配》形成黄派剧目之一。解放后张君秋一直保留捡柴一折,这一折目前基本形成为张派代表保留剧目之一。
