David Coates, a professor of economics at Massachusetts State University, is a well-known leftist scholar and famous Soviet expert in the United States and the world. His writings, especially those on the dissolution of the Soviet Union, have had a wide impact in the world. On November 23, 2004, Professor David Koz conducted an academic report at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on the lessons learned from the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The main points are as follows: 13 years ago, the system of the Soviet Union completely collapsed, so far the reason for it still argues endlessly. The dissolution of the Soviet Union has been a major controversy in the history of the world. In 1989-1991, the Soviet Union suddenly split. Their socialist system was replaced by a group of people trying to use the capitalist system, which happened after the 75th anniversary of the October Revolution. What lessons can be drawn from this incident, why did this happen, and why the Soviet Union came to the end of the socialist system? The answers to these questions are controversial.
