1953年春末的一天,江苏省公安总队篮球队来江都县作表演赛,我们小学组织了十几个体育积极分子到县体委帮助服务。在体委的办公桌上,一本《新体育》杂志吸引了我,信手翻来,我被里面的精美插图打动了。我和几个要好的同学大着胆子找到县体委主任,表明我们希望能经常来体委看《新体育》杂志,并许诺假期来义务服务。体委主任的慨然允诺,使我们欣喜若狂。这样,我与《新体育》相识了。
One day in the spring of 1953, Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Corps basketball team to Jiangdu County for exhibitions, our primary school organized a dozen sports activists to the county body to help service. At the sports committee’s desk, a magazine called “New Sports” caught me and I was mesmerized. I was impressed by the beautiful illustrations inside. I and several good students dare to find the director of the County Sports Commission, indicating that we hope to regularly to Physical Education Commission, “New Sports” magazine, and promised to volunteer service during the holidays. The generous promises made by the director of the Sports Commission make us ecstatic. In this way, I met New Sports.
