A brief review was given of the history of the International Drying Symposium (IDS) and Drying Technology and a brief description of the times and geographic changes in the theme of dry technology research and development. Finally, the author puts forward the challenges that the research and development of dry technology will face in the future under the background of competition in the field of R & D.
