谢冰莹,1906年出生于新化大同镇谢铎山的一个小乡村,原名鸣冈,字凤宝,因父亲是清末举人,谢冰莹从小便随父读四书五经,12岁进入大同女校学习。1920年转到益阳信益女子中学,1921年夏考入湖南省立第一女子师范,未毕业即投笔从戎。1926年冬前往武汉两湖书院的中央军事政治学校第六期女生部受训,1927年随叶挺的革命军西征,开始创作《从军日记》,是中国历史上第一个女兵作家,也是一名作用非凡、颇具影响的抗日女将军。早年曾与陈天华、
Xie Bingying was born in 1906 in a small village of Xie Duo mountain in Datong town of Xinhua. Originally named Ming Gang and Zi Feng Bao, her father was a lofter in the late Qing dynasty.
