快速凝固的非晶和微晶填充金属现在已应用于各种硬钎焊和软钎焊作业。铸制成金属箔材直接用于金属接合的快速凝固材料,同传统工艺制造的填充金属相比,具有高超的纯度,以及化学成份和显微组织上的均匀性。而这种高度的均匀性则表现为在钎焊过程中能够均匀熔化,在接头区域形成均匀的金属流变,并能均匀地凝固。用这种方法精确控制钎焊作业,就能够获得没有孔隙和宏观偏析的均质接头显微组织。其结果是大大减少废品率,使焊件接头达到优越的性能。将快速凝固合金应用于各种各样的母体金属/填充金属组合钎焊作业,都能获得具有高超机械性能的接头,并能使焊件接头具有更高的热疲劳抗力和抗腐蚀能力。而且,只有采用这种快速凝固工艺才能够形成好多种填充金属箔,而很多种填充金属在结晶状态下呈脆性,不能塑变成形,快速凝固填充金属应用于焊接的范围包括整个硬钎焊温度范围,从超级合金和不锈钢的高温硬钎焊直到半导体的低温软钎焊,都能适用。
