今年是台北“四·六”事件的49周年。1949年4月6日，逃往台湾的国民党政权，有预谋地在台北大肆逮捕进步学生。这是继1947年残酷镇压台湾人民“二·二八”起义之后，制造的又一起政治迫害事件；也是50年代初，在全省制造大规模白色恐怖的前奏。半个世纪以来，台湾当局坚持反共政策，至今对这段血腥的白色恐怖史实和“四·六”事件讳莫如深。“四·六”事件受害者之一的美国国家科学院院士、美国哈佛大学人类学讲座教授、前台湾“中央研究院”副院长张光直先生，去年趁因公来京之机探望胞兄张光正时，对其卷入这一事件的经过有详细陈述。张光正同志将张光直先生提供的材料略加整理，推荐给本刊发表，以飧关心台湾骨肉同胞的广大读者，并为研究台湾政治事件的学者提供珍贵史料。材料整理时有一些删减，但保留了有关“四·六”事件的全过程。只是因预定发表的时间仓促，最后修改的文字未经张光直先生过目，这是张光正同志特别要求说明的。
This year marks the 49th anniversary of the “4 • 6” incident in Taipei. On April 6, 1949, the KMT regime fled to Taiwan premeditated the wanton arrest of progressive students in Taipei. This is yet another incident of political persecution following the brutal suppression of the “February 28th” uprising by Taiwanese people in 1947; it is also a prelude to the massive white terror in the province in the early 1950s. For half a century, the Taiwan authorities uphold the anti-communist policy and have so far kept an eye on the bloody history of this white terror and the “April 6” incident. Zhang Guangzhi, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences who is one of the victims of the “April 16” incident and professor of anthropology at Harvard University in the United States, and former vice president of Taiwan’s Central Research Institute, paid a visit last year to visit brother Zhang Guangzheng , The details of its involvement in this incident have been elaborated. Comrade Zhang Guangzheng summarized the materials provided by Mr. Zhang Guangzhi and recommended it to the journal for publication in order to care for the vast readers of compatriots in Taiwan and to provide precious historical materials for scholars studying political events in Taiwan. There were some cuts in the compilation of materials, but the whole process of the “April 6” incident was retained. It is only because of the scheduled publication time hurriedly that the last revised text has not been read by Mr. Zhang Guangzhi, which is a special request of Comrade Zhang Guangzheng.
