Japan’s Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. developed an electromagnetic sensor using Y-Ba-Cu oxide ceramic superconductors with high sensitivity of 10 ~ (-10) W at 12GHz satellite broadcasting frequency band. The company combines a small cooler utilizing the adiabatic expansion of nitrogen with a new superconducting magnetic sensor to create a superconducting magnetic sensor operating at 80K. The superconducting electron in the sensor absorbs electromagnetic waves into normal electricity
