各位代表: 中国美术家协会第五次全国代表大会今天召开,这是自上一次美代会之后13年来美术界又一次盛会。回顾我国现代美术的发展历程,展望未来世纪中国美术的光辉前景,毫无疑问,这届会议将是我国美术事业进一步繁荣发展的崭新起点。借此机会,我谨代表文化部向大会表示热烈的祝贺！向出席大会的美术界老艺术家和各位代表,以及全国的广大美术工作者表示诚挚的敬意和问候！ 改革开放20年,是我国美术创作最活跃的20年,是我国美术事业阔步发展的20年。20年来,几代美术家坚持“为人民服务、为社会主义服务”的方向,潜心创作,大胆探索,进发出旺盛的创造激情。他们投身于火热的社会变革中,从现实生活中汲取诗情与画意,热情讴歌时代发展和变化,描绘新的时代,描绘人民新的生活和精神风貌。在党的“百花齐
Distinguished Delegates: The Fifth National Congress of the Chinese Artists Association was convened today, another grand gathering of the fine arts circles in the 13 years since the last session of the American Congress. Recalling the development of modern art in our country and looking forward to the glorious future of Chinese fine art in the coming century, there is no doubt that this session will be a brand new starting point for the further prosperity and development of China’s fine arts. On behalf of the Ministry of Culture, I hereby take this opportunity to extend my warm congratulation to the General Assembly! I would like to express my sincere respect and greetings to all the fine artists and delegates attending the conference as well as to the general art workers in the country. In the 20 years since the reform and opening up, it has been the most active art creation in our country for 20 years, and has been the striding development of fine arts in our country for 20 years. Over the past 20 years, several generations of artists have followed the principle of “serving the people and serving socialism.” They painstakingly created, boldly explored and vigorously created passion. They devoted themselves to the fiery social changes, drawing on their poetic and artistic qualities in real life, developing and changing their era of passion and singing, portraying a new era and portraying the new life and spiritual outlook of the people.
