Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury is the representative of stream-of-consciousness novels, which not only reflects the decadent and decadent of a family in the south of the United States at the time, but also shows the declining wilderness of the entire western world. Although literary works are higher than reality, they are derived from real life. Faulkner is not only a modernist writer but also a realistic writer. His book The Sound and the Fury is closely related to his life experience, background and ideology and culture. It is this realistic realism coupled with its unique modernist artistry that has allowed the work to maintain its permanent vitality.
