美国二战后资助翻译了大量的中国文化文本。本文通过分析美国国家人文基金会和美国学术团体理事会资助的中国文本翻译项目,发现美国资助中国文化文本的翻译项目在二战后逐步增长,到80年代末达到高峰,之后逐步减少;资助翻译的文本涵盖广泛,且以典籍为主;译者主要是美国高校的学者。论文分析了影响中国文化文本翻译项目变化的原因,认为美国资助中国文化文本翻译的实践对我国实施的各类翻译项目和工程具有重要参考价值。
After World War II, the United States funded and translated a large amount of Chinese cultural texts. By analyzing the Chinese text translation project funded by the National Humanities Foundation and the American Academic Council, the article finds that the U.S.-funded translation project of Chinese culture gradually increased after World War II and peaked in the late 1980s, The text covers a wide range of books and books.
