我省中部和南部的许昌、周口、驻马店、南阳、信阳等五个地区、共辖四十八个县、占全省县数的43.6％强些,基本上都是农业区。在这广大的地区,没有一个中等以上的城市。现有的许昌、周口、驻马店、南阳、信阳、漯河六市原来都是县级小市。当前,在实行市带县的新行政体制过程中,指望这六个小市担起带动这广大地区经济腾飞的重任,其负荷能力严重不足是不言而喻的。这就促使我们考虑如何把六小市变为六条生气勃勃的小龙,来带动整个豫中南地区的发展。我们认为,以促进六小市的横向联合,组建小城市群为突破口,形城乡成结合
In the central and southern part of our province, Xuchang, Zhoukou, Zhumadian, Nanyang and Xinyang counties and counties have jurisdiction over 48 counties, accounting for 43.6% of the total number of counties in the province, which are basically agricultural areas.
