红山文化以发现于赤峰红山后而得名。从上个世纪80年代以来红山文化玉器逐渐开始在国内外流传.人们把它作为商、周玉器珍藏直至上个世纪80年代牛河梁红山文化玉器的出土才一锤定音使红山文化玉器得以正名。 吉林大学吕军先生作过不完全统计,目前公认的公私收藏的红山文化玉器共有359件。相当一部分专业人士都认为红山文化玉器只有300多件.其实这个统计并不全面。我们走访过巴林右旗、敖汉旗、林西县、牛河梁考古工作站从网上查阅过通辽市的内蒙古自治区民族博物馆和故宫博物院这些地方都有吕军先生没有统计的红山文化玉器更不说海内外的私人收藏的红山文化玉器了。 目前收藏红山文化玉器最多的博物馆是巴林右旗博物馆,共有红山文化玉器100多件,其它散落在辽宁省博物馆、敖汉旗、林西县、通辽市、内蒙古自治区等处博物馆,最著名的三星他拉“c“字龙收藏在中国历史博物馆;最著名的建平玉猪龙收藏在辽宁省考古研究所;北京故宫博物院收藏的红山文化玉神人是一件匪夷所思的精品;上海博物馆在网上曾经公布过两件咖啡色的红山文化玉器但却没有在馆内展出,它在玉器馆展出的几件红山文化玉器许多是巴林右旗和敖汉旗等地出租的藏品。 在私人收藏家中.已经拍卖的藏家不论目前最为著名的当推沈阳的黄康泰先生公开的?
Hongshan culture was found after the Chifeng Hongshan named.
