水稻恶苗病是我省普遍发生的病害.俗名公稻子、白苗病、疯稻子、白秆稻等.文化革命前,广大稻区选用抗病品种,采取种子消毒以及农业栽培措施,基本上控制了为害.但近年来因放松了防治工作,恶苗病又有所回升.据沈阳市6个县、区调查,1979年发病面积占水稻总面积8～10%以上,估计可减产200～300万斤.
