《边城》从1934年发表以后,截止到1981年,共产生了以初刊本、初版本、修改本、改定本、重校本等版本。鉴于《边城》的文学影响力和具有广大的读者市场,时下各类出版商为了追求经济效益,争相出版发行。由于《边城》版本繁多,客观上给出版社在选择版本时带来了困扰,造成了当下《边城》版本鱼龙混杂的现状。因此,界定《边城》出版标准版本,给出版界提供一个权威、经典、最接近作家沈从文创作本意的《边城》版本成了目前亟待解决的问题。
After its publication in 1934, “Border Town” ended in 1981 with a total of original editions, initial editions, revised editions, revised editions, and secondary editions. In view of the literary influence of “Border Town” and the vast readership market, all kinds of publishers nowadays are competing for publication and distribution in pursuit of economic benefits. Due to the large number of versions of “Border Town”, objectively giving trouble to publishers in choosing a version has created the current situation that the “Border Town” version is quite a mixed bag. Therefore, it is an urgent issue to define the edition of “Border Town” and to provide the authoritative, classic, and “Border Town” edition closest to the author’s original intention of creating Shen Congwen.
