This paper discusses the method of synthesizing local oscillator signals by digital technique and tuning the superheterodyne receiver. The phase-locked loop (PLL) methods for various frequency synthesis are listed; including frequency compensation techniques, prescaler and divider techniques, and the use of computer-controlled and swept-frequency methods for the tuning process.
