天津市建筑科学研究所成立于1956年。现有职工200余人,其中具备高中级职称的工程技术人员占35％,全所建筑面积11000米~2,固定资产519万元。本所系综合性的专业化建筑科研机构,设有6个研究室以及技术情报室和中心试验室,分别从事建筑地基基础、混凝土外加剂、建筑结构与建筑体系、建筑施工工艺与机具、建筑工程材料及建筑防水、混凝土制品与工艺技术以及建筑技术情报等方面的科研、技术开发与技术服务工作。天津市建筑工程质量检测中心、天津市技术监督局质量监督检验第24站和天津市建筑工程局技术情报中心站也设在本所。
