作为未来世界主要橡胶生产基地的东南亚,将进入三国当先、五国并起的兴旺发展时代,并将对世界橡胶市场产生重要而深远的影响。得益于灿烂的阳光、充沛的雨水、炎热湿润的气候、良好的土壤排水条件以及传统的产业基础,东南亚一直是世界上天然橡胶的最大生产地,其中泰国、印尼和马来西亚更是名列世界天然橡胶产量的前3位,三国天然橡胶产量占全球70%以上,长期垄断了国际天然橡胶的市场供应并左右国际市场价格。作为传统农业国家,越南、菲律宾、柬埔寨、缅甸、老挝等东南亚国家在发展橡胶产业方面,拥有同样的有利条件。由于国内经济建设需要和出口创汇的刺激,这五个国家近年来十分重视发展橡胶产业,并取得了可喜的成绩。
