From Wang Yao’s “History of New Chinese Literature”, Tang Tao’s “History of Modern Chinese Literature” to Qian Liqun’s “Thirty Years of Chinese Modern Literature”, to “The History of Chinese Literature in the Twentieth Century” edited by Yan Jiayan, Chinese literature seems to be getting closer and closer to its true nature under the efforts of these renowned scholars. In the meantime, more scholars are trying hard to construct the history of Chinese literature in their own mind.
