社会主义精神文明是社会主义重要特征，这是我党对社会主义精神文明认识的新起点。社会主义精神文明是社会主义现代化建设的一项重要战略目标，在社会主义现代化建设战略目标总布局中，社会主义精神文明建设占有十分突出的位置，当前应大力加强社会主义精神文明建设。党的十四届五中全会对社会主义精神文明建设做了具体部署，我们必须高度重视，加强领导，把这项艰巨的任务完成好
Socialist spiritual civilization is an important feature of socialism. This is a new starting point for our party’s understanding of socialist spiritual civilization. Socialist spiritual civilization is an important strategic goal of socialist modernization. In the general layout of the strategic objectives of socialist modernization, the construction of socialist spiritual civilization occupies a prominent position. At present, we should vigorously step up the building of socialist spiritual civilization. The Fifth Plenary Session of the 14th Central Committee of the Party has made concrete arrangements for the construction of socialist spiritual civilization. We must attach great importance to and strengthen the leadership to accomplish this arduous task.
