In the past few years, China Telecom has been using its traditional long-distance lines to engage in IP telephony operations in order to compete for long-term market with telecom operators such as China Unicom. Recently disclosed through a series of consecutive reports by the “China Youth Daily,” this incident was embarrassed not only by China Telecom itself but also by government departments as industry leaders. From the integrity of business rules, China Telecom’s practice is clearly in violation of industry ethics agreement; fair competition from the market principles to see the problem, China Telecom is suspected of unfair competition.
