斯科拉里黯然下课后,巴西国内曾就选帅问题进行了一场票选,来看看谁才是带领五星巴西走出失利的理想掌舵者,在这个名单中,邓加的名字始终未跃然纸上。在巴西国内,球迷们更看好巴甲国际队主帅蒂特或者弗鲁米嫩塞的墨里西成为国家队主帅,虽然两人都不是美丽足球的代表,但起码都有丰富的执教经验,以及在俱乐部的光连履历,要比在国际队黯然下课的邓加有说服力。直至巴西足协正式公布,邓加出人意料地再次执掌黄衫军团,或许连邓加本人都没有想到自己会再次成为巴西队主帅。自从2010年离开巴西队帅位后,邓加留出了更多时间来照顾他的家庭,只在2013年执教过国际队9个月。
