柑桔采前使用乙烯催熟应慎之又慎,尤其应注意使用浓度。据有关报道,温州蜜柑两成着色时使用500×10~(-6)乙烯利,五成着色时使用300×10~(-6)乙烯利,可提早成熟5～10天。而本文所介绍的事例,乙烯利使用浓度约800×10~(-6),显然偏高。此外,为防止使用乙烯后发生落叶落果,最好与2,4-D配合使用。另据日本报道,在乙烯利喷液中加入1％醋酸钙,可抑制落果和落叶。
