雪顿节,是西藏历史悠久的传统节日之一。在藏语里,“雪”是酸奶子,“顿”是宴会的意思。雪顿节按藏语解释,也就是吃酸奶子的节日。 1、雪顿节的来源 17世纪以前,西藏的“雪顿”活动是一种纯宗教活动。那时藏传佛教格鲁派创始人宗喀巴在对西藏的佛教进行改革时,就制定了严格的法规戒律,在夏天(茂历4月至6月间)为了避免因伤害和危及地上活动频繁的各种小生灵不准僧人出寺活动,而要求在室内安心念经修习。在开禁的日子,他们纷纷出寺下山,世俗百姓都要准备酸奶子进行施舍。僧人们除了一顿酸奶子佳宴外,还尽情地欢乐玩耍,这就是“雪顿”的来源。
