After American critic Tom Wood wrote the book, “The Painted Truth,” he could hardly see any strong criticism of modern art. December 1988 No. 49 The German weekly newspaper published a series of sharp criticisms of modern art by the famous German writer Günter Kunert. In the meantime, he also published a book by the famous German art historian Meenan Schmitt (Wieland Schwied) rebuttal essay, which led to a sustained debate. In our opinion, what counts not only is opposition, but rather academic democratization and cultural atmosphere that are critically discussed and discussed with each other, which is precisely the spiritual freedom most demanded by the development of the arts. Here, we reproduced the above two articles according to Taiwan’s “artist” magazine to readers. Images attached to the text are Taiwan artists.
