From September 17 to 18, 1993, a symposium entitled “Shanghai’s Economy under Japan’s Military Occupation” was held at Cornell University in the United States. The seminars were conducted by the United States, China, Hong Kong, Japan and other countries. More than 50 scholars from the region attended the conference. The conference received five academic papers and discussed some problems of the Shanghai economy during the Anti-Japanese War from different aspects. 1.
