红花夹竹桃系夹竹桃科植物,其叶似竹,开红花似桃,向供观赏之用。此植物虽早被发现有强心作用,但由于误认毒性反应大,未被用于临床。我院通过整风后,解放思想,破除迷信,经内科和药剂室的密切合作,将红花夹竹桃叶制成片剂和注射剂,试用于心力衰竭患者,截至目前止已达数百余例,收到了显著疗效。且对洋地黄效果不好的心脏病如并冠状动脉机能不全或高输出性心力衰竭,亦有疗效。注射剂效力显得更快。有数例严重心脏病患者,入院时经注射夹竹桃素液二次(上下午各一针),症状即获得显著改善,次日尿量多,下肢浮肿消退,睡眠食欲均佳,心力衰竭已能基本控制,疗效较洋地黄出现为快。根据我院内科试用数百例所得印象,认为蓄积作用很少,毒性反应亦较洋地黄为少,因此值得推荐试用。制剂的制法
