本月二十四日,为邹韬奋先生逝世五周年纪念.他是本刊发起和创办人之一,本社同人,为纪念这位优秀的进步知识分子,特请徐永煐先生,把他生前思想转变的经过写出来,使人明白一个自由的知识分子,是如何本着他的良心,走上共产主义之路的.他在对日抗战以前,受到国民党反动派种种压迫,他所办的生活周刊,几度遭禁,他本人也两次被迫出亡国外,后又以抗日「罪名」与沈钧儒先生等同时被捕下狱,但国民党反动派并没有能使他屈服,他仍继续奋斗下去.抗日期间,国民党反动派又变本加厉,把他一手所创办的生活书店各处分店,用种种无耻手段勒令停业或封闭.最后他本人也不能在重庆立足,逃到敌后游击区继续为抗日而奋斗,直至最后一息.目前他的肉体虽离开人世,他的伟大精神仍是不死的.在抗日战争已告胜利,国民党反动派被打垮,全中国临近完全解放的今天,一方面庆祝「七七」一方面又在纪念这位从自由主义者到共产主义者的前进知识分子,是特别有其重大的意义的.
